Member for Wannon, Dan Tehan and Minister for Communications, Cyber Safety and the Arts, the Hon Paul Fletcher MP today announced $3,115 funding for the Cavendish Red Gum Festival 2020 through the Government’s Festivals Australia program.
“Mr Tehan said he was pleased to announce the Red Gum Festival Development Group had received funding, which would enable locals and the wider community to participate in a celebration of their local environment through music.
Minister Fletcher said the Government will provide more than $550,000 in funding for 20 regional arts projects through the latest round of the Festivals Australia program.
“Festivals reflect the shared culture and experience of a community, and art is an important component of that. The Cavendish Red Gum Festival 2020 will be a drawcard for tourists and will help celebrate the community and its stories,” said Minister Fletcher
“Support provided by the Australian Government through programs such as Festivals Australia recognises the integral role of arts activities at regional festivals and provides the opportunity for local artists to collaborate across the arts sector.”
Festivals Australia provides approximately $1.2 million (GST exclusive) each financial year through two competitive funding rounds to support arts projects at festivals in regional Australia.
