INNOVATION BRINGS MORE JOBS TO ARARAT

November 12, 2021

Member for Wannon, Dan Tehan today visited AME Systems in Ararat to celebrate their success in achieving Northrop Grumman certification. AME Systems is expected to hire 50 more workers to support their current Northrop Grumman projects and forecast substantial organisational growth.

AME Systems will be the third company globally to achieve this certification, enabling the company to be part of the Northrop Grumman global supply chain.

“It is the innovation of organisations like AME Systems that continue to deliver jobs and opportunities for regional Australia. Their work is creating significant economic activity with the creation of 186 new jobs this year here in Ararat”, said Mr Tehan.

“AME Systems showcase the best of our manufacturing industry on the global stage, and everyone not only in Ararat but Australia should be proud of their achievements”, said Mr Tehan.

“Our priority has always been to provide the opportunity for the people of Ararat and our region. Whilst bringing economic growth and sustainability for our local communities. Our executive team have remained committed to this goal” Nick Carthew, Managing Director, AME Systems.

“AME Systems is extremely proud to be partnering with Northrop Grumman. Our relationship has very much sharpened our strategic focus on defence and aerospace certification and process, which has opened a lot of doors for us in the Defence industry.”

The Northrop Grumman certification has also opened the door to the broader defence industry allowing AME Systems to gain new customers. Some of these new projects have allowed AME Systems to upskill its current staff.

AME Systems specialise in custom wiring harness solutions for a range of heavy industries, including transport, defence, rail, and special purpose vehicles. Currently, the harnesses are used in multi-billion-dollar projects such as the unmanned surveillance drone system known as the MQ-4C Triton.

AME Systems currently employs 400 staff in Australia and 119 in Malaysia
