The Albanese Government continues to walk away from communities that have been promised much-needed road and rail funding.
This will mean even less funding for our roads.
Right across the eastern seaboard of Australia in Victoria, Queensland, and NSW, impacted by the wet weather and the floods, that money is needed, as it enables local government to plan, it enables the private sector to plan, and now they're going to further cut funding.
There will be communities right across Australia very nervous, including communities in my electorate; $40 million was taken from road funding in the October budget by the Albanese government, and now we face the prospects of more funding cuts when the road network in Australia is deteriorating, and all this is taking place when the net overseas migration number is going to hit 715,000.
We should be investing in road and rail, not taking it away at a time when the Albanese Government is letting in record numbers of people.
