Member for Wannon, Dan Tehan MP, will host the Hon Angus Taylor MP, Shadow Treasurer in Wannon next week. Mr Taylor will join Mr Tehan for events in Winchelsea, Colac, Terang, and Timboon.
Mr Tehan said, “he was delighted to welcome Mr Taylor to the region and to provide the community and small businesses with the opportunity to share their cost of doing business and cost-of-living pressures.”
Mr Tehan said, “It is incredibly important for Angus to understand the enormous pressures that so many residents are feeling in this region, from the cost of running their businesses to the impact felt around the kitchen table.”
“With our economy slowing, Australians now losing jobs, productivity falling, flatlining GDP growth and a year of real wage decline, it is timely that Angus visited some of our businesses in Wannon and heard from them directly,” said Mr Tehan.
The cost-of-living pressures continue to dominate discussions across Australia, with households spending more of their money on the essentials; groceries, health care, childcare, and housing while giving up other priorities.
Businesses in Wannon are invited to join Mr Tehan and Mr Taylor at a small business round table in Colac, whilst community members are encouraged to join a cost of energy round table in Terang on Tuesday, 29 August.
