"I had the great honour of recognising on behalf of our nation the bravery of the Anzacs at the Dawn Service in Gallipoli in 2016.
"Like we did then, on this Anzac Day in 2025, we come together as a nation to honour the bravery, resilience and sacrifice of all those who have served, and continue to serve, in defence of our country.
"We reflect on the extraordinary legacy of the men and women who, from Gallipoli to modern-day peacekeeping missions, have answered the call of duty in the name of freedom.
"This year, we particularly remember the Anzacs who landed at Gallipoli 110 years ago. Their courage, determination and sacrifice, in the face of unimaginable challenges, laid the foundations for our democracy, our way of life and the values we hold dear today.
"We also pay tribute to the service of those who have followed in their footsteps — serving in conflicts, peacekeeping missions and humanitarian efforts around the world.
"On this day, we express our deepest gratitude to all our veterans, current servicemen and women, and their families.
"Their selflessness ensures that the peace, justice and freedom we enjoy endure, often at great personal cost. Their commitment is not just a duty fulfilled; it is a legacy that strengthens the heart and soul of our nation, inspiring generations to come.
"As we solemnly reflect, we honour them and pledge to never forget the debt we owe to those who fought for our future.
