Better Roads, Rail and Air

The Black Spot Program is a road safety program run by the Australian Government to fix dangerous roads by treating road locations where many motor vehicle accidents have occurred.

Year Project Funding
2018 Wellington Road from Bancroft Street to Edgar Street at Portland to install splitter islands and associated pavement work, signage, line-marking and raised reflective pavement markers. $115,000
2016 Section of Lee Breakwater Road from Cliff Street to 1.4km northeast of Cliff Street at Portland to install splitter islands and give way signs. $32,000
2016 2.6 km section of Bentinck Street between Hood Street and Wade Street at Portland to install splitter island and give way signage and upgrade line marking. $20,000
2016 1.2 km section of Edgar Street between Madeira Packet Road and Cape Nelson Street at Portland to install splitter islands and give way signs $16,000
2016 Section of Fern Street between Hurd Street and Bentinck Street at Portland to provide a splitter island, kerb ramps and give way signage at Milbank Street and improve delineation on Fern Street, including centreline and edge lines. $16,000
