Member for Wannon, Dan Tehan, is encouraging community groups across Wannon to apply for grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 under the Stronger Communities Programme Round 8.
The Stronger Communities Programme aims to encourage and support participation in local projects, improve local community participation and contribute to vibrant and viable communities.
Mr Tehan said that the Stronger Communities Programme ensures that funding is available for many important community infrastructure projects.
In previous rounds, projects such as retractable awnings, kitchen upgrades, scoreboards, and town signage have been delivered, Mr Tehan said.
Grants of between $2,500 to $20,000 are available to help fund small capital projects that will benefit our local Wannon community.
The grant amount for small capital projects is up to 100% of eligible project costs, except for local governing bodies, where grant funding will be up to 50% of eligible project costs.
The EOIs will be assessed by an independent community panel, and successful submissions will be invited to submit an application.
I want to encourage all local eligible community groups to submit EOIs for this grant, and expressions of Interest close on 28 March 2023.
