The community of Warrnambool and Port Fairy has made its position clear, we do not want an offshore wind farm placed right next to a whale breeding zone.
This area is home to a whale species already on the extinction list and it must be protected, not industrialised.
Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen has said that if a project is in the wrong place, it won’t be approved. I’m calling on the Minister to keep his word. Placing an offshore wind farm in a whale breeding zone is the wrong place — plain and simple.
Let’s stand together to protect our precious marine environment and preserve it for future generations.
