It was great to have Angie Bell, Shadow Minister for Early Childhood Education, visit Wannon again.
Access to childcare is a pressing issue right across Wannon with some people on very long waiting lists while others are unable to access a place at all.
Angie and I went to Deakin University in Warrnambool to discuss the potential for a Centre of Excellence which would enhance local education and training opportunities for the sector. We also visited an early childhood education centre where we met with people who have come into the country under our Designated Area of Migration.
Workforce shortages are the biggest challenges facing our early childhood education sector at the moment.
