Volunteer grants open for Wannon community groups

Home / Media Releases / Volunteer grants open for Wannon community groups

Dan Tehan, Member for Wannon, is encouraging community organisations across the electorate to apply for funding under the 2025–26 Volunteer Grants Program.

“The Volunteer Grants program was established by the Coalition Government and reflects our ongoing commitment to strengthening volunteering in local communities,” Mr Tehan said.

“Across Wannon, these grants have helped organisations upgrade essential equipment, deliver important projects and training, and support initiatives that promote and grow volunteering.

“Many of these projects simply would not have been possible without this support.”

Mr Tehan said volunteers are the backbone of local communities, playing a vital role in social, educational, sporting, cultural and environmental organisations.

“Volunteers give their time generously to keep our communities connected and thriving. This program is about backing them and ensuring they have the resources they need.”

Grants of between $1,000 and $5,000 are available to assist eligible community organisations in supporting the valuable work of their volunteers.

Expressions of interest close at 5.00pm on Monday, 30 March 2026.
