Labor blocks release of pre-COP attendance list

I am disappointed that the Albanese Labor Government has this afternoon done a dirty deal with the Greens in the Senate to block the release of key documents relating to Pre-COP.

The Order for the Production of Documents would have, if passed, required Chris Bowen to reveal which world leaders were planning to attend the leaders-level Pre-COP event in Tuvalu.

Chris Bowen’s Pre-COP is shaping up as a diplomatic disaster for Australia and the Indo-Pacific, with taxpayers at home left to foot the bill for luxury hotels for politicians, bureaucrats and activists.

Australians don’t need another Net Zero talkfest, they just want cheaper power.

The Coalition’s cheaper, better, fairer energy plan will cut Labor’s carbon taxes, scrap the Net Zero agenda and unlock the critical resources underneath our feet.

Unsurprisingly, in addition to blocking the Pre-COP motion, Labor also did a deal with the Greens to vote against the release of documents relating to the safety of the Cheaper Home Batteries Program and the Capacity Investment Scheme.
