Dan Tehan to travel to Europe for energy policy discussions

Dan Tehan, Federal Member for Wannon, will join a trip to Europe for high level discussions around energy and other policy areas from 15 – 19 June 2026.

Mr Tehan will travel to London, Oslo and Munich over the five days and meet with companies, government and research bodies that are involved energy, research, exploration, trading, defence, and aerospace.

The focus of the meetings will be to gain a broader knowledge of the global energy needs and how international companies are investing in fossil fuels and the renewable sector.

Mr Tehan will visit the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire which is Britain’s single biggest science facility and home of the UK’s civil and military nuclear science developments.

In London, Mr Tehan will meet CEOs and senior executives of BP, Shell and Vitol and will discuss the impact the Iran war has had on global crude, refined fuel supplies and shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

In Norway, meetings are arranged with the Norwegian Deputy Energy Minister and the Deputy Foreign Minister, a Norwegian state-owned renewable company, a Norwegian oil and gas company and companies involved in defence and technology.

In Munich, Mr Tehan will meet with the Technical University of Munich to discuss the Security and Defence Alliance developed with the University of the Bundeswehr Munich which brings together established and start-up companies in the defence sector. He will also have meetings and discussions with policy experts and companies in the energy, defence and aerospace fields to discuss global trends and the companies’ operations in Australia.
