Golden Plains Shire auspicing Rokewood Football Netball Club, Smythesdale Progress Association and Smythesdale CFA. This project will undertake three smaller sub-projects within the Golden Plains LGA with the objective of helping smaller communities become more vibrant places to live. Eash project is viable as its own project and will increase community participation in sporting, volunteering and community resilience in Rokewood and Smythesdale. The Rokewood project will replace the tennis and netball shelter at the recreation reserve, and the Smythesdale projects will purchase a a lawn mower for improving the amenity of open spaces in the town and build a storage shed adjacent to the fire shed.
This project will enhance community spaces across the Golden Plains Shire Council, fostering vibrant communities through enabling sporting and social activities. These facilities cater to a range of community groups, and will promote active participation and healthy lifestyles. This project was recommended for funding by the Community Consultative Committee at their meeting on 12 September, 2019.
