The Purnim community has undertaken as a community priority identified through its Purnim Community Plan, to install signage on the two main entrances to the Purnim Township on the Hopkins Highway. An artist has been secured to design and install the signage which will be a large two meter high basalt rock in the shape of a eucalyptus leaf, embedded into the ground. The leaf symbolizes many things, including the habitat, local koalas, the indigenous owners and a recognizable tourist symbol to which the local community can relate.
