Let me start with three statements that some will find controversial and challenging:

• I am proud to be an Australian.
• I am proud of our country.
• And I am proud of the values that define us.

 As a nation, we have built something special.

Any discussion about immigration should include what it means to be an Australian citizen and the values that underpin Australian citizenship.
