As we look ahead to the year to come, I want to wish you and your loved ones all the very best.
The start of a new year offers a welcome opportunity to pause, reflect and appreciate the strength and generosity of our local communities. Whether you’re spending time with family, lending a hand through volunteering or enjoying a well-earned break, I hope the days ahead bring peace, connection and a chance to recharge.
This time of year also provides a chance to appreciate the people, places and experiences that make the Ararat and Pyrenees region such a special place to live. Our communities achieved a great deal together in 2025, from new facilities opening their doors to volunteer groups continuing their tireless work. Time and again, the cooperation, generosity and resilience of our region has shone through.
It is this spirit that makes me proud to serve and to work alongside so many dedicated people. As we look ahead to 2026, I am optimistic about what we can achieve together. I will continue advocating for the duplication of the Western Highway and for a headspace facility in Ararat, along with the other services, infrastructure and opportunities our communities deserve.
With many people still travelling during the school holiday period, I encourage everyone to take extra care on the roads. Traffic is heavier at this time of year, and staying alert and patient can make all the difference in ensuring everyone gets where they’re going—and home again—safely.
Please also stay alert to weather and fire conditions and check in on neighbours or community members who may need a hand.
Thank you for your engagement, feedback and support throughout the past year, and for everything you contribute to our region.
