The Prime Minister has refused to release the latest data about the number of service stations without fuel.
In Question Time today, the Prime Minister was asked twice to update the Australian people on exactly how many service stations across the country were without fuel or with only one type of fuel. On both occasions, the Prime Minister chose not to provide this vital information.
Last week, only after Opposition questions to the Minister for Climate Change and Energy, the Government released fuel data per state and territory.
The Opposition has consistently called on the Albanese Government to establish a national fuel dashboard to track fuel shortages at service stations.
Shadow Minister for Climate Change and Energy, Dan Tehan, urged the Government to be honest with Australians.
“The Prime Minister needs to release this information today,” Mr Tehan said.
“The Government should be upfront with Australians, providing them with the information they need to make informed choices about which service stations in their area are experiencing fuel shortages.
“The Government’s lack of transparency in the middle of a national fuel crisis is undermining confidence in their ability to manage this difficult situation.
“Just as with the COVID pandemic, Australians need and deserve access to basic information.”
