The members of our shed are responsible for the upkeep of the buildings and grounds of the Friends of St Brigid's precinct at Crossley. These buildings consist of the Crossley Hall and Supper Room, the Crossley Cultural Centre, the Crossley Tennis Courts and the Crossley Men Shed. Our Men's Shed urgently needs to buy a new ride on motor mower to replace our existing 8 year old mower that is in a state of disrepair, and is costing a significant amount of money to repair. During mowing It is leaving strips of grass uncut where the blades fail to meet. A new ride on mower will save our Shed members a considerable amount of time each week in mowing the lawns. It will also add to the self-esteem and mental health of our volunteers for a job well done. Our mower is also needed to ensure the grass on the 5 acre area of our precinct is kept short and under control to minimise the real risk of grass fire in the summer. The ideal mower required to best suit our needs is valued at $6450.
