Better Roads, Rail and Air

The Remote Roads Upgrade Pilot Program targets road improvements for regional communities and addresses significant deficiencies on key regional and rural roads that limit community access, pose safety risks and impact the economic development of the surrounding area.

The project would see the upgrade of 31.35km of the remote road in the Chatsworth-Woorndoo area to 6.5m seal width, improving road safety and accessibility for the local community and boosting productivity for the primary production and transport industries. The roads would be gazetted for B-Double Higher Mass and PBS vehicle access. $11,178,491
