The project is the second stage of a the Skate Park, basketball court and other recreation spaces at the Tea Tree Lake precinct inlcuding picnic shelters, footpaths, landscaping, youth "Chill" space and other associated works. The Skate Park initiative at Tea Tree Lake has been identified as a community priority under the 2018-2023 Mortlake Community Plan.
The implementation of Stage 2 of this project will build on the usability of the Tea Tree Lake Precinct and expand the use of the facility by a wide range of community groups from the younger members of the community with the skate park and basketball court to families with the picnic shelters and all members of the community with the improved footpaths. This project will build on the vibrant Mortlake commuity and increase community participation within both the built and natural landscape improving the community's health and well-being and intergenerational engagement. This project was recommended for funding by the Community Consultative Committee at their meeting on 12 September, 2019.
