Member for Wannon Dan Tehan is travelling in Vanuatu as part of a parliamentary delegation hosted by Save the Children, the world’s leading independent organisation for children.
Mr Tehan is travelling with other members of parliament from Labor, the Nationals and the Greens to learn about local issues, including the impact of climate change, the PALM (Pacific Australia Labour Mobility) scheme and the work of Save the Children.
The six day program includes visits to local schools, hospitals and communities impacted by natural disasters and climate change as well as meetings with senior members of the Vanuatu government.
The visit is hosted in part by Vanuatu’s Minister for Climate Change, the Hon Ralph Regenvanu.
Australia is the largest provider of humanitarian assistance and aid to Vanuatu.
