An elected Liberal Government will encourage female participation in sport by delivering $1 million to upgrade change rooms and amenities at Fitzgerald Street Sports Stadium in Portland.
Liberal Member for Wannon, Dan Tehan MP, has secured this commitment to ensure local clubs and schools — including the Portland Basketball Association, Portland Secondary College, and Bayview College — will have access to safe, modern and accessible facilities.
"I’ve had strong feedback from local families and clubs about the need for modern amenities to support growing female participation in sport,” Mr Tehan said.
“This vital upgrade will ensure women and girls feel welcome and safe when they step onto the court, field or pitch. I’m proud to deliver this funding to make our community sport fairer and more accessible.”
This commitment is part of the Liberals’ plan to strengthen our local communities and to get Australia back on track.
