Stage one of the plan involved selecting and designing the most effective flood mitigation works, and thinning vegetation in McCallums Creek and Deep Creek.
Carisbrook community experienced its worst flood on record in January 2011 when almost the whole town was flooded. It followed a large flood in September 2010, which affected about 40 properties.
