An elected Liberal Government will invest $1.82 million to build new female changing rooms and dedicated facilities for umpires and officials at the Cavendish Football Netball Club, ensuring players of all levels have access to modern, fit-for-purpose amenities.

Liberal Member for Wannon, Dan Tehan MP, emphasised that the investment reflects the Liberals’ commitment to growing grassroots sport and supporting greater female participation.

“The Cavendish Football Netball Club is the heart of the community, bringing people together and fostering a love of sport,” Mr Tehan said.

“This funding will provide much-needed female changing rooms, ensuring that all players – regardless of gender – have the facilities they need.

“By investing in grassroots sport, we’re strengthening community connections and encouraging even more people to get involved.”

Club President, James Huf, welcomed the funding, calling it a significant step forward for the club.

“Dan has heard what our community wants. His commitment—along with the Liberal Party’s —shows they get how important it is to make sports accessible to everyone,” he said.

“This funding means we can build the right facilities for our fast-growing number of female players, especially in football. It’ll also help get more people involved, no matter their age or skill level.”

Only Dan Tehan and the Liberals have a plan to build a strong economy and invest in Wannon’s future, ensuring regional communities have the sporting infrastructure they need to thrive.
