An elected Liberal Government will commit $450,000 to support the construction of new female change rooms at Birregurra Recreation Reserve, ensuring women and girls have the facilities they need to participate in local sport.
Member for Wannon, Dan Tehan MP, has fought for this investment to provide much-needed change rooms and amenities for female footballers, cricketers, netballers, and the broader community.
"Birregurra residents have shared with me that our local female athletes need better facilities to support their participation in sport,” Mr Tehan said.
“This investment will help the Birregurra Recreation Reserve continue to be a thriving hub for local sport, ensuring women and girls have access to modern and safe amenities.”
The Birregurra Recreation Reserve Committee of Management has pledged $50,000 towards the project, showing strong local commitment to these improvements.
This commitment is part of the Liberals’ plan to strengthen local communities and support grassroots sports.
